Calling all Crocheters! A FareShare Festive Feast Wreath

Like it or not, Christmas is only 2 months away! Today we are thrilled to share news of a creative Christmas collaboration which, we hope, will get makers making and raise lots of money to help us get food out to those who need it most this winter time.

The FareShare Festive Feast Wreath is a crochet pattern featuring a crocheted Christmas dinner complete with turkey, pigs in blankets and sprouts! Created by our resident crochet designer and member of our development team, Lindsay Weston, the pattern is being sold online and all the proceeds raised from the sale will be going to our Greater Manchester operation.

“When I started working with FareShare Greater Manchester earlier this year, I couldn’t stop thinking about how I could combine my passion for crochet with fundraising for this brilliant organisation. Crocheted food seemed like the perfect way forward. I started by making some pigs in blankets and before I knew where I was, I had a whole crocheted Christmas dinner!” says Lindsay.

The wreath will look fantastic on any wall or door alongside your other Christmas decorations and is great fun to make. The crochet pattern has full step-by-step instructions on how to create your very own wreath which will last for many years to come.

Crocheters can buy the pattern as a downloadable PDF and then make their own wreath in time for Christmas – it’s available from here.

You can hear all about the crochet collaboration in the latest episode of Making Stitches Podcast which is hosted by Lindsay.

The food waste hierarchy calls for food to feed people first

Food companies are legally obliged to use food to feed people before sending to anaerobic digestion or for animal feed. We help them use their surplus to feed people first.
